Description
Appearance of the plant:
- The Dionaea Muscipula, commonly known as the Venus Flytrap, has unique, bright green leaves that end in trap-like structures with teeth on the edges.
- The leaves close quickly when an insect touches the hairs on the inside. These traps are often red on the inside, which forms a nice contrast with the green leaf.
- The flowers of the Dionaea Muscipula are small, white and grow on long stems that rise above the traps.
Location:
- The Dionaea Muscipula thrives best in direct sunlight, both indoors and outdoors.
- This plant does well on a sunny windowsill or in a greenhouse where it receives plenty of sunlight.
Water requirement:
- The Dionaea Muscipula needs regular watering. Make sure the soil always stays moist.
- Use distilled water or rainwater, as the plant is sensitive to the minerals in tap water.
